my best friend's son is my son's best friend.

my best friend's son...

Mason, this pure talented delight of a young man, close enough to feel like my own, goes into an eight hour spinal surgery to correct his scoliosis at 6am pst tomorrow (Monday, 11/23).

If you would, please keep him in your thoughts and send him juicy healing love waves?

my son's best friend...

thank you, my love-filled blog friends :)

**UPDATE - tuesday morning** all is as well as can be expected! the surgeons were "beaming" about how well the surgery went :) scariest part over and now the road to recovery...phew and hooray!

he will be in my thoughts....

years ago they thought I had scoliosis but I didn't...just some other strange things instead.

a friend of mine in high school had scoliosis surgery and I remember all of us signing her body cast...

will he be in one ? I wonder if it's still the same surgery all these years later...

He will most certainly be in my thoughts. Poor guy. I hope the surgery makes his life more comfortable, ultimately.

Oh, how scary!

I love his blazer. The boy's got style, huh?

What a cool young man! Sometimes life's path isn't always straight and narrow...I hope he takes it in a stride;) A smooth and speedy recovery to Mason!

I will pray for him while I am standing in the passport office in line; it will be a mutually beneficial thing. I will pray for Mason and then, I won't be tempted to be overcome with frustration.

thank you all so very much :) I have my Mexican prayer candle lit and await the call with news this evening...

beth: no body cast for Mas, it's three separate permanent metal rods to straighten and stabilize the spine and give his organs the space and alignment they are meant to have.

sara: yes, ultimately :) and i completely agree about the jacket!

jess: cool indeed!! no, life isn't, but now his spine will be! :)

rw: that gave me a well needed giggle! hope the passport is for something exciting!!

sperly: muah :)

I'm a little late to this post but I hope his surgery was successful and that he is in the least amount of pain as possible. He is in my thoughts and prayers.
