the time has come...

full rear

...to let go of Pearl. She has so many great stories and has been a dear to me. I can longer justify being a two-car owner and I do believe she and I really have come full circle now.

The short and sweet details are these:
$4300.00
1966 230S Mercedes Sedan
4 speed manual column shift
located in the San Francisco Bay Area
Really great Sunday driver with a few signs of age...

The story of how she came to be mine can be read here.
And howzabout a little spin?

Check out the full set of detailed photos and information on her over at my Flickr. After checking those out, please contact me at lesophie @ comcast.net or 415.388.3998.

Feel free to spread the word for me so some lucky someone has a chance to love her up as much as I have!

Thanks all :)

"...without darkness

Nothing comes to birth
dark

As without light
Nothing flowers." - May Sarton
light

I have spent much of my recent time pondering things as such.

Also, how differently, essentially and from how many different perceptions any one thing might be interpreted. My grass series, all taken on one day, from the same spot, with the same camera and lens...maybe the only thing that changed was the light but they have begun to represent more to me. This is some of what has been rolling around inside my head, presenting in my dreams, inspiring me lately...

What is in your head right now?
Do tell.

detritus love.

detritus love.
there was much debate when the kids and I stumbled upon this while on our photo journey last weekend. what in the heck did it come from? a parade float was a big option but out near an abandoned grain mill in the countryside? perhaps from a memorial wreath? it had decaying foam on the back...nonetheless, one thing was decided for sure... that love is everywhere :)

happy weekend, my dears, happy weekend.

new prints and poppytalk!

These are four new prints that I have added to my shop in honor of making it into the Poppytalk Handmade Marketplace this month! They have launched the new Mother's Day and Kids Market just today.

When you get the chance, go check out the other fantastic vendors as well. I am so pleased to have my photos shown alongside such wonderful artists and to be a Poppytalker :)

Happy Spring!

3 today.

3 today.

It is a beautiful and peaceful Sunday morning. The sun slips in and warms the room, the coffee quietly dripping through the filter, scenting the house. Sweet music gently ushering in the day. A perfect time to reflect.

This blog began three years ago on this day.

I thank you all so very much for bearing witness and taking part in this journey with me. My path is expanded and forever altered in the loveliest of ways by sharing this crazy life with all of you.

Here's to many more :)

WHAT wicky wicky

It all started like this...PickleBoy and his friends were eating lunch one day. Upon asking Mason what he was doing, his answer "mackin' on sum bread" became the catalyst. PB's response, "dude, we should totally write a rap and make a video." Then Kit, already a truly gifted movie maker at the age of fifteen said, "let's do it."

This group of boys is awesome - they are talented and hysterical and have known each other since they were littles. They ARE freshman in high school now, thus, the disclaimer: a bit of profanity here so perhaps do not watch with your littles first time around. If you aren't sure which one is mine, PB has the headphones on.

And now, my friends, without further ado, I present you with "Mackin on sum Bread"...

Now off to the bakery...have a good weekend, my peoples!

orange cauliflower is an american classic? huh, who knew.

let's party
oh yeah, baby, you KNOW this is how I like to party. (ahem)

hellfire
and salsa for sinners? bring it.

All taken on a journey across the bay. These photos aside, my absolute adoration for Berkeley Bowl is no joke, my friends.
