and some plates and promises made to be in the same room on a different continent very soon...

then whisked away by my oldest (and-deep-and-blood-and-already-lifetimes-and-so-many-more-of-them-too) friend

I fit in a little solo escape to the sea of my childhood before most of the world was awake and then a party, too.

was it all just a dream?
the very best kind of dream?
thank you my girls.
thank you my sea.
blessed is what I am.

and we will all be together again soon...

escape with me...

If you've been reading this blog for awhile you might remember our trip to Cozumel in April of 2007. What a pure and absolute pleasure it was. I return there in my thoughts so often and cannot wait to feel that warm white sand between my toes again one day.

And now, an easy way for you to recreate a damn close version of our trip.

B has created the most beautiful website for the condo that they are part owners of. It is easy peasy to book your stay from the site and don't hesitate to email them with any questions. This is where we stayed. Where many of my photos of this trip were captured. With big open rooms and lovingly decorated, facing this sea. She has used many of my shots on 'the island' page of her site. I am here to tell you that I wouldn't stay anywhere else and neither should you. Far enough from the busy tourism, yet such a small island. I suggest you get a car - you really should explore every nook and cranny of this magical place.

And while you are at it, could you tuck me in your suitcase?

(OH and speaking of suitcases, I am doing a quick round-trip zip to southern california this week - camera in hand - so I will most likely be scarce until next week. See you then my peoples :)

I awoke this morning filled with hope and love and warmth. In the early dark I let my mind wander and weave around the connection I share with people in this life - my 'real world' ones, my 'blog world' ones, the ones I have not yet encountered on this journey.

It exacted the most eudaemonic effect in the deepest part of me...

...and I wanted you to know

that I feel blessed with you.

Each and every one.

is his nickname.

This shot is from a family session I did last week. Perhaps I will share more from this shoot next week...some will certainly make it to my site. The soft focus and flare were only semi-planned. Really more of a happy accident.

Come to think of it, that is exactly how I want my weekend to be. Semi-planned, with a soft focus, throw in a dash of flare with a tumble of happy accidents on top.

Ah, yes.

so much better.

Thank you huge amounts for your continued interest and inquiries! I am so overdue in giving you an update on this boy...

This photo is from just a few days back. I am happy to report that this is Rocket's expression more often than not these days. I stopped sleeping on the living room floor on night five. Lots of love and comforting has been - and continues to be - given. His signs of improvement are many. He can now use his back legs to a degree although the feet aren't really cooperating yet. He has been toodling around the house (an effort), using a box (!!!), and "jumping" down off the couch on his own. He has been playing with us, too. I guess it may be time to build a carpeted ramp to the bed soon - WOW - who thought I'd ever type those words on this blog?

So there you have it. My tough and 'hearty' little guy and I thank you all over again.
