Self Portrait Challenge - enclosed in his fort.
This shot is from a series that I love. PickleBoy made an impressive fort last week that entailed moving the mattress and raiding the linen closet. He made a 'red' carpet to enter and set up a bed of floor pillows inside. The ceiling was made of his luscious flannel rocketship sheets and being inside was like being under a mesmerizing sea that floats out in space. He slept in there for two nights. My sister and I have so many memories of building our own elaborate forts when we were kids. Really, really good memories. Ah, life in full circle.
I am having this next one blown up (11x17? bigger?) to mark this dreamy time in life with my boy forever:

Oh I love the photo and the sentiment. I was thinking about building a fort just for me, the kindergartener in me, but I hadn't yet. Maybe I can convince my husband to join me. :-) I certainly remember the joy of forts in my childhood with my big sister.
Really nice. I love those kind of forts and to have those moments with your kid....it doesn't get better does it?
beautiful description and reflection.
i love the photos, too!
the one of you and your boy is stellar...amazingly captured.
forts. a practice that we should carry on into adulthood i think. yes?
watch...it'll be the next mental health craze...hee!
i'm all about the forts! wonderous pictures!
I love forts! I have acctually begged my husband to help make me a permanent playhouse type thing in the back yard just for me... I am 26 years old, you'd think I might be too old, but no:) And as for the vvideo, isn't that cool? it is funny that you posted that, my friend Bryant sent me that same video on my myspace earlier today:)
Awww man, I got all teary. I'm getting tween attitude over here and that gorgeous picture makes me long for the days when she was a Mama's girl. ::sigh:: Definitely enlarge that one - make it really big!
I love these photos! You look like you're under water.
Those are great. I LOVE the ethereal blue light.
I love this, and i brings back so many great memories. That is the perfect "enclosed space". Thank you!
Hey Esha! Looking at these pictures makes me bummed I haven't been able to see you and Riley lately. All of us need to get together sometime soon. My dad especially would love the extra company to get his mind of recent events. Miss You
love, Gerrit
