thrilled and humbled...

...to have my friend Alicia give me such a wonderful shout out today.

Welcome! Please say 'hello' if you are stopping in for the first time...or 'hey, baby' if you are one of my long timers...and please (most definitely) have one of the very best of weekends.

(and thank you, lovely A :)

Having quite a nice, long visit here, on Saturday morning. Found you via Alicia.

I do love your photographs. And your wonderful son, just entering high school! Mine is a year out of college now, but I remember those first days so well. Enjoy each moment.

Your lovely blog may be the last electronic thing I do before losing power to Hurricane Gustav. I can't help but imagine what my New Orleans would look like through your lens... Thanks for providing some bright spots, though we are hunkered down here.
I'll visit again...
Peace.

Hello! I, too, am coming courtesy of Alicia.

I just read your post about your cat and wanted to share my story, as it might give you some hope.

My childhood cat, Trash Cat (she was found in a Trash Can, and we already had a Garbage Kitty of similar circumstance) was much beloved. One day she and her sister Fiendy were bitten by an opossum with some strange malady.

Fiendy lost her tail, but poor Trash Cat slowly began to lose mobility of her back legs. At first she was terribly uncomfortable, and we were very close to making that very difficult decision. We decided to wait a few days, and in that time Trash Cat didn't walk again, but she did learn how to maneuver by dragging her hind quarters. She seemed content, happy, even, and we decided this was not an animal needing euthanasia. She lived in this manner for about four more years before dying of natural causes. She never suffered any injuries, illnesses, or other adverse affects with regards to the opossum bite or her inability to walk normally.

All the best, and lots of kitty love,
Hadley
